Senior Manufacturing Engineer Personal Care / HBC / Cosmetics

Our client is looking for a capable engineer to lead our manufacturing improvement operations and become a subject expert on assigned technologies and products. Work with production personnel, other company engineers, management, and outside vendors to improve the yield and quality of existing products. Be the point person for new product development trials and scale-up in your operational areas. The person in this position will be expected to investigate and propose new technologies that improve performance, quality, and lean flow in our production operations.
This is an outstanding opportunity for someone with hands-on engineering skills who loves to work directly with production equipment and operating personnel. We are looking for a self-starter who can work independently and drive toward real change and goal achievement. Experience with labeling, flow wrapping, liquid filling, adhesive coating and rotary converting is desired but not essential. Essential is the ability to understand process operations, to work with production equipment and to effectively train production operators.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manufacturing improvements: Yield improvements and operational constraint reduction. Work with production to understand pain points and areas of inefficiency. Understand the sources of waste and quality issues. Present to management on status of production operations with identified projects for improvement. Collect and use data to drive decisions.
New Product Development: Responsible for engineering and production tasks associated with new product development. Be the process expert on NPD teams to develop timeline and required investments. Innovative thinking, task accomplishment and dedication to timeline are essential for success.
Machine Improvements and New Technology introduction: Work with department management to define and analyze opportunities to improve operations with equipment modifications or new technology. Assume the responsibility for new equipment start-up, and operator training.

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required
Minimum one to three years in production environment with hands-on support
Experience in a Consumer-Packaged Goods in a cGMP environment preferred
OTC and Medical device experience a plus
Solid Work and/or CAD experience a plus
Positive pro-active attitude that is both collaborative and team-oriented with a strong work ethic
Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Solid time management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a lean/agile work environment
