Sr Brand Manager Food Processing & Manufacturing
Commercial Marketing: Responsible for multiple product lines and/or a significant business or product line. Incumbent is accountable for managing the existing retail product line including P&L and Marketing Budget. Responsible for execution of strategies that will affect attainment of Business Unit and Division financial goals and objectives
WHAT YOU’LL DO • Leads and directs all in-market activities for the assigned product line(s) or business. • Responsible for the development, management, and execution of strategies and tactical programs to effectively achieve commercialization, profit margin, and business plan objectives. • Directs and supervises a staff including one or more Brand Managers, Associate Brand Managers. • Additional responsibilities annual business planning, financial forecasting and reporting, Advertising Promotions & Gratis (AP&G) budget management, and project management.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: • Responsible for directing all in-market activity associated with multiple product lines and/or a significant business or product line. • Drive product positioning and competitive selling strategies for the brand, as well as provide leadership in achieving the committed market share, revenue, and margin of the product. • Develop and provide strategic planning and commercial input to the development of the assigned product line. Direct the analysis of the business; oversee the identification of key segment business drivers, priorities and growth opportunities. • Establish marketing strategies for product(s) including advertising/promotions, tactical plan development and execution including the activation of national TV, digital/social media and CRM.. • Participate in the development of business plans, identify areas of concern and modify marketing programs to address changes in the marketplace. • Partner with Field Sales to manage the retail portfolio, including promotional investment activities to effectively communicate the strategic positioning to retailers and deliver growth commitments. • Determine and manage the allocation of product budget to maximize ROI. • Assess new indications/claims and potential market expansion opportunities. • Manage promotional materials to establish product branding and messaging. • Partner with HCP marketing to lead strategy & execution of in-office consumer marketing. • Present product and marketing programs to Sr. Management. • Oversee the development of selling tools for the field, which includes the coordination of internal marketing research and market claims testing. • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve objectives. These groups include external customers and consumers, Field Sales, R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, Logistics, Public Affairs, Marketing and Executive Management and external vendors or agencies.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE, YOU’LL BRING Required: • BA/BS Degree in Marketing. MBA strongly preferred due to the business complexity and P&L responsibility of the position • 7-10 years of progressively responsible product management experience in either health care & Consumer packaged goods or OTC marketing Preferred: • Financial and budget management experience and skills. • Demonstrated effective leadership competencies. • Demonstrated leadership and success in project management. • Proven ability to develop and execute complex strategic business plans. • Strong analytical skills including experience with financial models. • Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards and requirements for infant formula and nutritionals. • Strong communication and presentation skills. • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to attain business objectives.
