Position Responsibilities:

• Responsible for contracting competitive rates, inclusions and service level agreements with DMCs, hotel, rail/transport and/or other suppliers who offer critical components of our FIT vacation itineraries

• Proactively develop new itineraries and enhance current itineraries leveraging insights from customer feedback, competitors and market trends

• Drive the end-to-end product development process including idea conception, itinerary design, contract negotiation, pricing/repricing, product marketing and sales analysis

• Responsible for developing forecasts and achieving volume, profitability and margin targets

• Continually review the performance and takes ownership for the success of his/her itineraries; monitors results and recommends actions to gain market share and/or increase profitability

• Coordinate with the Product Implementation team to ensure product is loaded accurately and available for sale/sellable through call center and website based on seasonality of the business

• Conducts product training to ensure sales team has the expertise and confidence required to qualify and educate clients as well as close the sale

• Responsible for how product is presented in marketing materials to ensure USP are highlighted and all information is thorough and accurate

• Develop, analyze and distribute reports to internal and external stakeholders

• Works collaboratively with the Operations team to ensure seamless operation of each itinerary

• Proactively identifies and implements solutions to reduce costs, streamline processes and/or directly improve the customer experience

• Engages with Customer Relations team to proactively identify and remedy issues that impact product delivery and customer experience and satisfaction; work with suppliers to resolve any issues and/or secure compensation for service failures

• Coordinates with global teams and partners across international markets to ensure product meets customer and business needs

Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a business discipline

• Minimum five years’ working experience in product management within a FIT packaged travel business or travel wholesaler

• Track record of success in high value contract negotiations

• Strong knowledge of key destinations and attractions within North America, including National Parks, Alaska and the Canadian Rockies; knowledge of European markets a plus

• Established relationships with key suppliers in Canada, the US and Europe

• Understanding of and/or experience in rail travel preferred

• Highly analytical; comfortable analyzing data to identify trends

• Problem-solver who demonstrates tenacity and the ability to achieve results despite obstacles

• Articulates thoughts and ideas clearly, concisely, and persuasively (both written and verbal)

• Self-starter with hands-on approach and ability to multi-task

• Team player with an entrepreneurial-spirit and desire to help build a new function from the ground up

• Tech-savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
