Position Responsibilities:

As the Brand Manager you will the manage the full product development lifecycle for three key product lines (toy / juvenile focus); you will use your creative eye for both product and packaging; and analytics for margins, pricing, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Portfolio Management

  • liaise with our China office to update product catalogs, and/or sell sheets with new items at the end of each season
  • monitor, review and approve products and graphics produced for your brands by the eCommerce department to maintain brand integrity
  • monitor margins, factory costs, and MSRP to present to VP
  • understanding of product assortment within assign brands
  • understanding of competitor product offerings and define a point of difference

Product Development

  • Conduct and analyze market research for company’s products as well as competitor brands, such as pricing, margin and placement in order to suggest recommendations to executive decision makers
  • Maintain product development schedule
  • Conceptualize new product ideas, focusing on both value and innovation. Present ideas in the form of mood boards and/or sketches 
  • Create BOM’s for new product ideas and gather contents locally
  • Manage outside freelancers in creation of plan drawings and 3D drawings as needed
  • Design concept packaging artwork for client meetings using Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop
  • Must be willing and able to assist in designing and mocking up when needed
  • Track product samples requested from our China team
  • Review pre-pro samples for production approval
  • Review and approve production artwork
  • Routinely meet with the VP to review PD status. Must be open to changes in direction at any stage of the development process

Brand Management

  • Conceptualize innovative product presentation concepts, either digital and/or physical as client meetings arise
  • Collaborate on trade marketing strategy and execution for all in-store POS/POP
  • Maintain clean showroom display of products
  • Assure production samples are available in US office for upcoming meetings
  • Organize and attend annual product photoshoots with outside studio
  • Budget management 
  • Create brand presentations for customer meetings

Communication

  • Present new product lines and marketing plans to internal sales teams, external partners and retailers at meetings, trade shows and other events
  • Comfortable communicating with China team members via email
  • Well written. Ability to write and help proof instruction manuals for new product       
  • Must have experience managing freelancers domestic and globally

Experience Required:
  • 3+ years of consumer product or toy design experience
  • 3+ years of branding or marketing experience a plus
  • 3+ experience costing products overseas
  • Expert skills in Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop & Illustrator Required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Power Point
  • Excellent sketching skills to quickly communicate ideas
  • Understating of design for manufacturing
  • Creative problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team and maintain a positive work environment under pressure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic product photography skills
