SummaryOur long-standing client has engaged us to find a Director of Global Commercial Development. The key responsibilities include: 

  • By leading a cross-functional matrix of key stakeholders, develop the commercial strategies for Therapeutic Areas and assets.
  • Leads analysis of the market, indications, identifies key segment value drivers, growth opportunities, aspirational product concepts and target product profiles, product positioning & revenue potential to maximize assets
  • Drives development of asset playbook; crystalizing commercial and strategic insights by synthesizing product, brand, customer, and competitive information into the development of asset plans
  • Drives prioritization of key leverage points in the treatment process and develops behavioral objectives for each stakeholder group.
  • Develops strategic communications platform, driving data generation in order to satisfy global and area requirements for target product label and target product claims in partnership with key stakeholders
  • Drives the strategic and financial long range plans (LRP) including asset forecasts
  • Identifies and solves for capability gaps in order to enable successful launch
  • Leads aspects of and actively engages in related business development assessments with the Business Development Director in GCD Specialty
  • Be a conduit between R&D and commercial teams, fostering information flow that optimizes asset opportunity
  • Builds strong internal/external relationships, leveraging expertise to strengthen the asset value proposition
  • Leads internal processes accurately reflecting asset opportunity and required support (Long Range Plan, Strategic Annual Plan, Lifecycle Management Group)
  • Be the commercial voice at Disease Area Teams and with organizational leadership

Experience Required:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Relevant experience within therapeutic area with proven track record of success in pipeline and/or in-line marketing within Pharma, biotech, or consulting industry
  • Hepatology experience is required
  • 10+ years of experience with successful track record in pharma marketing
  • Strong analytical and strategic marketing skills as well as scientific understanding
  • Strong financial acumen with a good understanding of P&L drivers and the ability to develop appropriate SG&A investment and top-line sales forecasts that generate long-term value.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills across a variety of organization levels and disciplines, including senior executives
  • Experience with matrix-based teams and project management
  • Excellent command of MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
  • Self-starter, and proactively driving projects toward successful completion
