Position Responsibilities:

â–ª  Recommend and develop policies, procedures and systems to meet company objectives

â–ª  Provide strategic financial leadership and support on the evaluation of potential alliances, investments and/or other issues affecting the business

â–ª  Align financial policies and procedures with company objectives

â–ª  Oversee the issuance of financial information and report financial results and risks to the CEO

â–ª  Oversee the Company’s transaction processing systems 

â–ª  Build, develop and manage the finance and accounting team and the fleet logistics team, capable of carrying out needed initiatives

â–ª  Be viewed as approachable and as a mentor on financial issues

â–ª  Oversee the recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of department staff throughout all company locations

â–ª  Ensure timely and accurate budget analysis and financial review for management team 

â–ª  Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team

â–ª  Participate in key decisions as a member of the leadership team

â–ª  Understand and mitigate key elements of the Company’s risk profile

â–ª  Establish financial reporting systems and controls to ensure compliance with company expenditure requirements and to meet customer needs

â–ª  Maintain appropriate insurance coverage

â–ª  Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies

â–ª  Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations

â–ª  Monitor cash balances 

â–ª  Arrange for debt and equity financing 

â–ª  Weigh in on employee benefit plans, with emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefits package

â–ª  Stay abreast of trends and regulations to ensure effectiveness and compliance for the finance and accounting functions

â–ª  Ensure the Company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements

â–ª  Participate in conference calls with the investment community

â–ª  Maintain banking, CPA, and legal relationships

â–ª  Represent the Company with investment bankers and investors

â–ª  Network in prominent business circles to promote business

Experience Required:

â–ª  Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field

â–ª  Minimum 10 years’ experience managing an accounting function in a small - medium size company

â–ª  Minimum 5 years’ supervisory experience in Finance or Accounting 

â–ª  Must be both an independent thinker and a team player

â–ª  Excellent communication (verbal, non-verbal, and written) and interpersonal skills

â–ª  Applies common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

â–ª  Strong analytical, conceptualization, interpretation, and critical thinking skills

â–ª  Must be detail-oriented

â–ª  Self-motivated with a sense of urgency, and readily acclimates to an ever-changing environment
